JOB DESCRIPTION: SHOW DIRECTOR & CHOREOGRAPHER

DESCRIPTION

LobbyPlan and coordinate shows and exhibitions, maximize creative impact, edit music, choreograph solo and group routines, manage crews, troubleshoot, and perform all other tasks necessary to ensure successful productions of ice shows. Educate and motivate aspiring skating professionals, Assist Skating Director and Rink Manager as needed. Group instruction required; private lesson opportunities also available.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Minimum ten (10) years of experience as an ice show professional and principal performer for productions with worldwide scope and quality reputations, i.e., Willy Bietak Productions and Feld Entertainment.

Success as a competitive figure skater at a national level as well as a record of competing at the World Figure Skating Championships.

Understanding of a wide variety of teaching techniques for fundamental and advanced skating maneuvers and training/conditioning methods as well as presentation skills.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Excellent communications skills (in English).

Ability to create, envision, manage, plan, publicize, and successfully implement ice skating shows and exhibitions.

Ability to edit music and choreograph superior solo & group routines for shows and competitions.

Passion for educating and motivating young skaters interested in professional show skating careers.

Knowledge of the basic and free skating programs of both the Ice Sports Industry and United States Figure Skating.

Ability to demonstrate skating and performance skills as well as complex choreography for a variety of music styles.

Experience and strong management skills as a skating instructor in small and large groups as well as in private lessons at all levels.

Professional Member of the Ice Sports Industry, the Professional Skaters Association, and United States Figure Skating. Gold-level ISI Judging Credentials.
